Why is the culture of your company important to you?

with Michael Newton

First, what is company culture?
Company culture refers to the attitudes and behaviors of a company and its employees. It is evident in the way an organization’s people interact with each other, the values they hold, and the decisions they make.
Company culture encompasses a variety of elements, including work environment, company mission, leadership style, values, ethics, expectations, and goal.

The culture of the company is important to me because it allows our team to work together more cohesively as a family. This cohesive environment allows each of us to share information from department to department, so we are all on the same page for each commercial landscaping project and we know what needs to be done. An easy working relationship throughout our company means the customers receive a higher quality landscaping experience and each employee enjoys being a part of the Embark Team. Being a part of Lawn Management Company, means while we are focused on the tree health of the property, we need to work seamlessly with the commercial landscaping side of the business for the overall look and health of the commercial property.

The importance placed on maintaining our positive work environment that feels like a family starts from the top. The LMC/Embark culture means that the company can hold on to employees for long periods of time. This creates stability both internally and externally. Customers being able to work with the same people for years portrays the success of our culture, our stability as a company, and consistency on each property. Whether the customer is working with our team for tree trimming, tree removal, or commercial landscaping, they know what to expect from people with whom they are familiar. Company culture is important to employees because workers are more likely to enjoy work when their needs and values are consistent with their employers. If you work somewhere where the culture is a good fit, you’ll tend to develop better relationships with coworkers and be more productive.

At LMC/Embark, our culture starts from the top. Brad and Bill Cox have always done a great job of making each of us feel like we are part owner of the company. They trust our abilities in our positions and stand behind us in good times and bad. A fun place to work is just as important to them and it is to each of us. Developing this type of culture didn’t happen overnight and it is a conscious effort to make sure it is maintained. There is focus placed on making sure each of us know that we matter to this team!

Companies with winning organizational cultures have 72 percent higher employee engagement ratings than organizations with weak cultures. Employee engagement is defined as the extent to which an employee is passionate about, motivated by and connected to their work and company. It’s no surprise that winning organizational cultures lead to high levels of workforce engagement. AT LMC/Embark, we love the environment in which we work, the work that we do, they clients we service and the beauty we add to our environment. We truly are passionate about tree maintenance, landscape maintenance, irrigation and landscape enhancements!

In summary we believe that:
Quality Culture Creates Quality, Long Term Employees Therefore Giving the Best Possible Stability & Service to the Clients Which Leads to the Company’s Success.
